We Are Church...Just Different.
The word "avalon" means "new beginning." That is what our church is about. We are obsessed with seeing people find a "new beginning" through Jesus Christ and the life that He offers. Through creative and culturally relevant methods, Avalon Church is about helping people discover and develop a passion for God.
We Are a Church On a Mission
Our Mission: Helping People Discover and Develop a Passion for God
Avalon was started to reach the unchurched and to help people discover and develop a passion for God. Our goal is to develop fully-devoted followers of Christ and to impact Henry County with the Good News of Christ.
We Are a Church Where Needs Are Met
At Avalon, we are obsessed with life change. It drives everything that we do. No matter what your life situation may be, we believe that God wants to meet you right where you are. Whether your needs are physical, spiritual, or relational, Avalon exists to point you to a God that can meet those needs ... a God who can change your life.
We Are a Church With a Plan
We are real. We are a group of fellow strugglers who have discovered the life-changing power of the Bible.
We are relevant. We want to create a safe environment for non-believers to hear the life-changing message of Christ. As a result, our music, our teaching, and our atmosphere are intentionally planned to create an optimal experience for those unfamiliar with church. It is also planned in a way for our members to experience exceptional opportunities for spiritual growth and service.
We are fluid. We live in a fluid culture that is constantly changing. As a church we are committed to growing deep roots and a strong foundation. We will always be committed to the doctrinal truths of the Bible because its message never changes. We will stay fluid in our methods and always be willing to tweak and improve the way in which we serve our people and reach the unchurched.
We Are a Church With a Process
A mission statement is useless unless you follow it. It is our intention to simplify our church's process for reaching people and developing fully-devoted followers of Christ. Our process is exemplified in the words Identify, Invest, Involve, and Invite. Those four words are the discipleship plan at Avalon Church. We believe that to be a true disciple of Christ you must first, Identify yourself with Christ through salvation and baptism, as well as a local church, coming into covenant with that group of believers. Secondly, you must Invest your time and resources into the kingdom of God through the local church. Finally, you must Involve yourself through attending worship experiences with a group of believers and being actively involved in serving in a ministry in the local church. And fourth, you must Invite other people who do not know Jesus or are far from church to come and join you on your journey with Jesus, through the community of Avalon Church.
