MISSION STATEMENT

Avalon HOPE exists for the purpose of moving communities forward through strategic local, national, and international humanitarian initiatives.

WHO WE ARE

The word “Avalon” means “a new beginning.” Avalon HOPE is a Christian, non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to providing individuals, families, and communities with opportunities for new beginnings. We join with individuals, businesses, and foundations to improve lives across the world.

WHAT WE DO

We offer hope through three primary areas of focus: Poverty, Education, and Aids Relief.

POVERTY

Each Spring Avalon HOPE serves thousands of children and families in need at our Boxes Of HOPE Giveaway. Participating families from the Atlanta area are provided with a box filled with a variety of food essentials.

Just before the school year begins, Avalon HOPE presents its annual Back To School Bash. This exciting event features a variety of interactive children’s games and activities as well as on site, complimentary health and dental checkups. Additionally, each child is given a brand new backpack - school-approved and ready.

During the holiday season, Avalon HOPE provides Christmas gifts to local children at the Avalon HOPE Christmas Giveaway. This highly anticipated yearly event offers much-needed holiday cheer to families that might not otherwise have reason to celebrate. These Christmas gifts vary from year to year and have included brand new bicycles & helmets, and name brand footwear.

EDUCATION

As a part of every Avalon HOPE event participants are equipped with educational resources including free financial counseling, parenting tools, and information about additional community assistance organizations.

Avalon HOPE’s marquis educational event is the Avalon HOPE Backpack Giveaway. Participating students receive a brand-new backpack filled to the brim with a selection of items suggested by the local Board of Education.

AIDS RELIEF

Every fourteen seconds another child is orphaned by AIDS in South Africa. Avalon HOPE is fighting this global giant through the South African Children’s Resiliency Project, a children’s village through which AIDS orphans are adopted, housed, clothed, fed, educated, trained in leadership, and given a religious foundation. Our philosophy is that they should not be given Eurocentric enculturation, but should be totally immersed in their own indigenous culture while being given the physical, educational, emotional, psychological, and spiritual tools to become leaders in their own society.
