Care Ministry
How does Avalon minister to people when they need it most?
Great question! Our pastoral care staff and volunteers of the Care Team want to make sure that you have encouragement and prayer when you need it most. The best way to receive care in our church is through Small Groups. Being a part of a Small Group is the way to find awesome fellowship, help in your spiritual growth, and care in time of need. You can join a Small Group by attending our next GroupConnect event. To find out more about GroupConnect or our Small Group ministry, please click here to visit our Small Groups page or call the office at 770.320.7008.

Prayer
Avalon is committed to praying for the needs and concerns of our church family. A team of staff and volunteers serves in this vital ministry during each worship service. The Prayer Team also prays for prayer requests throughout the week. Prayer requests can be submitted by writing them on the back of your Communication Card during our next weekend service or by email at prayer@avalonchurch.net.
Need To Talk?
We all need encouragement. If you have an issue that you need to receive some biblical guidance about, we would love to talk with you.
On Sunday...
The Care Team is available to talk with you, answer your questions, and pray for you. Care Team members are paraprofessionals (not licensed or paid professional therapists) trained in the skills of listening, goal setting, and providing practical biblical advice. Members of the Care Team can be found to the right of the baptistery (under the chandelier) after each weekend service.
During The Week...
Appointments with our pastoral care staff are offered on Monday through Thursday from 9am to 5pm at the church office. To minister to you as effectively as possible, we ask that you provide some general information about the nature of your situation in advance, so we can enable you to speak with the staff member most equipped to deal with your concern. We would love to meet with you to offer practical, biblical advice for your questions and concerns. For those seeking ongoing, in-depth counseling, we would be happy to refer you to a licensed Christian counselor.
Hospital Visitation
Our Hospital Visitation team is here to extend the love and compassion of Christ to a member or regular attendee of our church when in the hospital, nursing home, or confined at home. To request a hospital visit, or to let us know of another member or regular attendee that is in the hospital, please contact your Small Group leader first, then also email our pastoral care staff at care@avalonchurch.net.
Weddings
We are excited for the opportunity to help you prepare for your upcoming marriage. Our pre-marital counseling is offered to members and non-members of Avalon Church. Pre-marital counseling at Avalon is designed to give you and your future spouse an understanding of God's design for marriage and a realistic picture of what marriage is like. If you desire an Avalon pastor to officiate your ceremony, completion of our premarital counseling program is required. For more information about our wedding policies or pre-marital counseling, please email us at care@avalonchurch.net.
Funerals
If you have experienced the death of a loved one and you would like to discuss a funeral or memorial service, please contact our Pastoral Care Staff at 770.320.7008 or at care@avalonchurch.net.
