Making The Impossible Possible

Have you ever felt like all of your efforts to please God fail? Maybe you keep on doing the same sin over and over and no matter how much you confess it you always seems to do it again. Or maybe you are trying really hard to succeed at a ministry that just never seems to gain any momentum. Or perhaps you pray for direction but it seems like you have more questions than answers. If you have ever felt this way, then you are not alone.

No matter how impossible your situation may seem there is a way to make the impossible possible. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” (NLT) Did you get the point? It is impossible to please God without faith. Not difficult, or unlikely, or challenging but impossible. Trusting God is the only way to please God. Here are some ways to activate your faith and please God this week.

1.      Faith believes in the face of doubt.

Faith sees what others refuse to see. This is true of all visionary leaders. They can see, by faith, what others can’t. They see a better future. They see what is possible. True faith will always be tested. We must believe in the face of doubt.

2.     Faith gives no matter what.

Giving is connected to our faith. It may be the greatest test or expression of our faith. I truly believe that you will not grow in your faith until you begin to give in faith. We must trust God and give even when we feel like we don’t have it. Giving acknowledges God as the owner and provider in our lives and unleashes God’s blessings in our lives.

3.     Faith submits to God’s plan always.

Have you ever had your faith tested by not understanding what God was up to? Have you ever felt like obeying him was the last thing you wanted to do? Faith always submits to God’s plan and obeys him no matter what. There have been many times that I sensed God’s leading in my life and it required me to do something I did not want to do, or something I felt ill-equipped to do. But trusting God means that I obey him no matter what.

4.     Faith keeps on showing up.

One of the most important aspects of faith is faithfulness. It requires great trust in God to keep on showing up even if it does not seem to matter. Have you ever worked, prayed, begged, and pleaded for God to answer your prayers only to find that the answer was no? Faith keeps on showing up and keeps on doing what God has called us to do no matter if it is hard, disappointing, or even a failure in our eyes. God is pleased when we trust him. Never is faith more real than in the difficult times.

5.     Faith grows from a thankful heart.

Faith is cultivated in a thankful heart. An unthankful spirit can be the catalyst for sin and failure in my life. When I am thankful for what Jesus has done for me and how much God has blessed me it enables my faith to grow stronger.

Without faith it is impossible to please God in any part of my life. But faith in God makes the impossible possible. God is pleased when I believe, give, obey, and keep on showing up with a thankful heart.
